Hoeve De Stroom in Gemert was a farmstead traditionally owned by the Gemert parish priest. It was not a large farm and the tenants could not always pay the rent on time. The maintenance of the farm also sometimes caused problems. In 1766, for instance, this was the case and things had to be replaced. The walls of the farm were still made of half-timbering and loam and were then built of brick. In 1905, the farmhouse burned down and was rebuilt on site. Largely, this is the present building. Around 1975, the farm was sold by the parish priest. Hoeve De Stroom was located where the stream De Rips crossed the Paashoefsedijk from De Mortel. No doubt the farmstead owes its name to the watercourse on the spot. The watercourse has since been moved up a bit on the spot during the 'canalisation'. The Gemert parish priest owned another farm called De Breemhorst further along the Paashoefsedijk. That farm was also sold to private individuals and demolished around 1975.
