The Toon Kortooms park is located at the place where the famous novelist Toon Kortooms grew up. The park is about 3 hectares and is situated right in the middle of the national park “ the Peel” . In his novels “ Beekman and Beekman” and “ Help the doctor is drowning” he wrote about this park.

The museum of the novelist Toon Kortooms, where all his books and memories can be found.
Peat bog (restaurant)
Peat bog son Davy, head chef, operates the restaurant. There is room for more than sixty visitors. The terrace can accommodate at least a hundred guests. From the peat bog and from the terrace visitors have a panoramic view over the vast Peel. Two walls of the restaurant are mainly composed of glass and with this angel you feel like you are right in the middle of the Peel.

Tea garden and art exhibition
In the free accessible cottage garden you can explore numerous works by various artists. You can also take a walk through the tea garden and enjoy a great cup of tea.
Visit the foundations of the old Deurne peat factory while walking on the birch tree path of Toon Kortooms!
Peat field with demonstration peat cutting in groups
On the specially built peat field, it’s possible to attend a demonstration turf cutting for groups.
This can give you a feel of how it was back in the days of the diligent Peel workers!
