The Edah Museum shows you the development of distribution and production of foodstuffs from the days of old to the present-day supermarket.
You get to see the tools of yore the grocer used to practice his occupation as well as the means the manager of a modern supermarket has at his disposal.
You will follow the path of the butcher, the baker and the milkman and see how their tasks slowly got taken over by the supermarket.
Producers of foodstuffs
Helmond and its surrounding region are home to a lot of companies producing foodstuffs. In the Edah Museum, you will get better acquainted with a number of those companies. In cooperation with the food industry, the Edah Museum is aiming to transform itself into a regional museum for production and distribution of foodstuffs.
Visitors full of praise
The many reactions of visitors clearly show that the museum speaks to them and touches them. The route "From then to now" takes you on a trip down memory lane, but there is also a lot of appreciation for contemporary developments. Children will not believe their eyes.
The warm welcome and the tour of the museum hosted by the enthusiastic former Edah employees.
